Functional

So I really needed a yoga mat bag.  I went to yoga classes all of last semester without one, not like it is awful to not have one but a yoga mat is a kind of awkward thing to haul around in a normal bag because it stick out the top.  So since I have started on pintrest I have found a lot of new ideas.  One of them being a yoga bag, click the link to get to the one I used there are also some other ideas on this page.  So I decided on the type of fabric I wanted to use and went to work.  I did alter the pocket sizes and how many there were because I wanted to be able to fit my yoga block in one of the pockets which would not have worked  if I followed the directions exactly.  Anyways here is how mine turned out.  :)

Some Fun Monsters

These are a couple of Monsters I made right after winter break.  They are just a couple of fun craft things.
The pattern for the black one came from the book Me Make Monster the sock monster was a Stupid Sock Creatures kit that came with some supplies and a book with a few other characters in it.

Scribble and the monsters of course.

Glass Work

When I was student teaching I learned a little bit about glass fusing.  I learned a lot more about it after we got a small kiln and now I have experimented a lot here are a couple examples with more to come.

Peach Tree Painting

Here is an image of my peach tree, I created this painting the year I did my student teaching.

Yay for Trees

Trees are something that I really enjoy including in my artwork.  I have drawn trees since I was in high school but I never really pursued the idea of making trees until I was in college.  Now it is one of my favorite subjects.  I think the thing that really spurred me to use more tree imagery in my artwork was when my great grandma passed away.  I went down after the funeral and in her back yard there was this peach tree, it was so overloaded with peaches that the branches had broken from the weight.  It was just amazing to me that the peaches where still growing on these broken branches.   Also that the tree had grown so many peaches that it could not not withstand the weight of what it had created.  Just thought it was neat, anyway here is some of my tree artwork.
My Tree Mug

Everyone has roots.  Ceramic Roots & real branches.

Tree Trunk is ceramic branches are real.

Tree Cups that match up.

This has a steel bar in the center and real pieces of a log stacked on it.  The neat thing about using real wood in sculptures is that it is always changing.

College Throwing

From my college days.  Just throwing some pottery.  So much fun!  I miss that studio!
